Imamovic Ayer Tennis

Practice, Learn, Challenge, Be Strong, and Play Wise!

Welcome

Welcome to the Imamović-Ayer Tennis Academy. We are pleased that you have chosen to be part of our academy that emphasizes tennis skills and strategies, fitness and wellness while making new friends in a safe, tobacco-free, fun, and competitive environment.  The Academy structure is guided by safety, program efficiency and effectiveness, service quality and knowledge, friendliness, and training.

MISSION

The mission of the Academy is to enhance lives of children, youth, and adults by providing quality instruction from introductory to high performance levels of tennis skills and strategies, fitness and wellness related to the sport in a safe and fun environment, to establish hard working and disciplined individuals striving for excellence.

HISTORY

The Academy was established in May 2007 and is led by two excellent tennis professionals, Nadina and Joel, who have a lifelong competitive playing experience at provincial and college levels, as well as years of teaching experience including tennis camps.

LOCATION

The Academy programs are held outdoors on 3 out of 6 Sackville Drive Tennis Courts behind Payzants in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. These programs are outdoor based and they run from May 1 to Aug 31  each year.  In fall 2007, the Academy offered indoor tennis specific fitness and school programs from Grade 1 to Grade 6 throughout the fall and winter.  In conjunction with Tennis Nova Scotia,  the Academy also conducted The Rookie Tour and school programs for kids ages 5 to 12.  In September 2008 the Academy has taken on a new approach to improving its programs' quality and customer service by relocating to K-W area in Ontario during fall and winter months for career development and education purposes.

PARTICIPANTS

The Academy attracts a wide range of tennis players and people throughout the province. It has started with a dozen of participants in 2007 reaching approx. 250 loyal participants in 2008. Academy's youngest participant was 5 years old and the oldest 70 in 2008. The skill and the tennis background of these participants varies from the beginner level of not having ever played tennis in their life before to provincially ranked juniors and adults in the province of Nova Scotia.  We are confident to announce that some academy juniors have the potential of reaching the college level of play in the near future.  All Academy  participants are eligible for the tax credit/healthy incentive for up to $500 per participant [child].  For more information visit the Nova Scotia Health Promotion Tax-Incentive.

If you have any questions regarding our Spring 2009 programs, and registration procedures please contact us. You can also stop by the courts during the academy program dates and hours to meet or speak with Joel or Nadina in person about any program information, issues or concerns. We value our customers' input and would do our best to accommodate you!

We hope that you will have a safe and fun experience with us!
