INSTRUCTION

Private Lessons & Semi-Privates

 

These types of lessons can be arranged on participants’ and coaches’ availability.  The structure of the lesson is designed to provide a player with individual instruction, with flexibility to work on desired shots and situations.  Private lessons and semi-private lessons are ideal for those who need individual attention to help master their skill.  In addition, they are a great way to obtain a quick brush up or review of the basic strokes. 

 

Build your lesson

 

Build your lesson is designed for the groups of friends who want to progress, improve or simply learn a new skill together.  These lessons are arranged on a weekly basis for a semester of minimum 4 weeks in length at players’ convenience. Time frames are limited so if this is something you are interested in, hurry and sign up! Minimum of 4 players per group required.

 

Cardio Tennis

 

Cardio Tennis is a fun, high energy tennis workout. It is a great opportunity to meet new players in a fun and exciting environment.  The program is great for those players who are ready to get a total body workout, improve tennis skills, and get the heart rate into the age-appropriate cardio zone at the same time. Time frames are limited, hurry to sign up. Minimum of 6 players required.

School Programs

IATA offers tennis sessions at local grade schools to students in Grade 1 to Grade 6. These programs are offered on an 8 to 10 week basis. For more information contact us to book your first complimentary information session with us! We are pleased to announce that in 2007, IATA has been able to provide 4 local schools with tennis information and its students with basic tennis skills seeing up to 180 kids in a day. 

 

WINTER TENNIS FITNESS

 
Winter Tennis Fitness is a program that focuses on body workouts and drills that are crucial for tennis. For example, core strength is essential for generating power on the tennis court, therefore, ab and back conditioning score high on our workout priority list.  Other workouts included in the program are: cardio, agility, coordination, power, plyometrics, and flexibility.  The indoor tennis fitness program is offered from September until April each year at Prince Arthur Jr. High every Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. To sign up call 444-2747!

RAQUET STRINGING & MAINTENANCE

 

IATA has access to a wide range of strings, grommets, and grips. We’d be more than happy to help you get the feel, power, or control you are looking for.  For information on string types, grips, grommets or tubing, and stringing options contact us.  Prices range from as little as $15 to $35.   

 

TNS ROOKIE TOUR

In conjunction with Tennis Nova Scotia, the academy conducts “Rookie Tour” program for children between the ages 5 and 12 at the Courtyard.  The program follows the progressive tennis criteria as outlined by Tennis Canada.  For more information and to register call 425-5450 ext. 318.
